With continuation of our series of Meet the Team, up next is our very own Hannah Smith. Hannah has been with us almost a year now and has been integral to delivering multiple projects and help developing relationship with our clients. 

We spoke with Hannah and asked a series of questions to give her insight on how she got into project management and background on her personal life.

When you joined Show + Tell and how long  you’ve been in project management total


I joined Show + Tell in July 2023, taking a bit of a leap of faith into Project Management as this role has been my first experience of it, having been in recruitment for 5 years prior.


I'd never really heard of Project Management as a career but as soon as I did I knew it would be the right career path for me. I love being organised, planning things and speaking to different people in my personal life, so once I knew there was a career around this, I was all for
it!


What you enjoy about your role and the agency


The thing I enjoy most about my role is the different projects I get to work on and the clients I get to meet because of
that, it's such a varied role, from working with property and investment sectors to leisure and even a cathedral.


No day is the same at Show + Tell, and providing your projects run to time and budget you're pretty much given the autonomy to manage them in a way that works best for you - even if that does mean asking developers 1000's of questions a day. Aside from the job, the team here are a great bunch of people, we all get along really well and do plenty of social activities, be it breakfast, after work drinks or fundraising events for charity, it's generally just a fun team to be a part of.


I'm a total CrossFit nerd. I only started doing CrossFit just under a year ago but I soon became hooked and go down to the gym every day - except Sundays when it's closed, but if I could, I would. It's true what they say about CrossFitters, you definitely have to have a weird mentality to put yourself through that much physical pain and endurance, but as a community it's great fun!

In a past life I also used to be a competitive figure skater, but we can leave the talk of leotards till the next blog!

My favourite project so far has been the recent launch we did of a new website for DTRE, it was my first full experience
of managing a project from conception to delivery. I learnt a lot, went on atrip to London, developed internal team relationships and got to put new skillsinto practice working with Payload for the first time. Despite it being a very
tight deadline we delivered the project on time, I worked with a great designerand developer on our end and the client contact provided excellent support and insight too. If all projects run as smoothly as that one I'll be amazed.


1 piece of advice for anyone looking to get into a role like yours:

Go for it and be confident. If you really want to get into Project Management you just need to find a place that is willing
and able to support you on that journey. Having good organisational, planning, time management and people skills is great but being confident in yourself and your ability to deliver is what brings it all together.

Meet the team: Hannah Smith

We recently ventured out of the office and out of our comfort zone to conquer the Yorkshire Three Peaks. We embarked on completing the challenge by covering 24 long miles, along the way we clocked up over 550k steps, reached new heights with an elevation of 5200 ft, 16 porkpies consumed, Three peaks climbed and 1 rewarding pint. 

We are so pleased to be able to have completed this challenge and most importantly to have supported and raised money for an incredible charity, 

. We collectively raised over £1,000, but we're still welcoming donations below. 

Mind in Harrogate District is just one of over 100 local Minds spread across England & Wales. Each local 

operates as an autonomous charity, which is why both Show + Tell & 

 have partnered with them to not only raise funds, but also offer ongoing creative & marketing support. 

"Even though 1 in 4 people have mental health problems, most of us don’t get the help we need. This has to change. We’re Mind. We’re here to fight for mental health. For support, for respect, for you." - Mind. 

This in 'Mind' our team found the legs to get through the challenge and we have a few insights from them on how they found the experience and what it meant to them:


The main thing that got me through the Three Peaks was knowing that we were all in it together. We were all encouraging each other throughout the day which was a great motivator to keep going!

 Knowing that there was a Chinese takeaway waiting for me at home was what kept me going.

Why do you think it's important to do these types of activities?

Raising money for charity and awareness of issues important to the people of the agency is the primary reason for doing them. Beyond this, challenging ourselves mentally and physically I think is important for personal and team development and if we can have some fun while doing it then that’s a bonus!

It's great to see how you can work together as a team to push through.

What was your main motivator to get through the challenge?

Completing the full Three Peaks is something I've always wanted to do and now I can say I have!

I've always wanted to do the 3 peaks as I enjoy challenging myself physically and mentally, and the thought of the sense of achievement at the end.

The physical and mental achievement of completing the challenge is what kept me going. As well as knowing all the money we raised was going to a good cause.

Filling 10.5 hours of walking with some of the most random chat! Josh’s alphabet game was a highlight even though it’s the kind of game my 9 year old would play; it killed an hour or so!

Seeing the consumption of pork pies at every break.

Seeing the sheer amount of pork pies that we managed to consume throughout the day was an achievement in itself. We must have cleared out the entire meal deal aisle of Asda in preparation for this walk.

Show + Tell take on the Yorkshire Three Peaks 

We’re excited to announce a new face here at Show + Tell, as we’ve welcomed Josh Dodd as our new agency Marketing Manager.

With a strong back catalogue of marketing roles for both B2B and B2C organisations since 2018, Josh will be responsible for Show + Tell’s marketing and content strategies, brand development, tactical campaigns and more, aiming to help us achieve our ambitious revenue target of £1m in the next financial year. 

Most recently, Dodd served as Commercial Marketing Coordinator at CMS Distribution, a supplier of business and consumer technologies to customers across Europe and APAC, where he played a pivotal role in marketing lead generation, strategy and campaigns that drove brand awareness and customer engagement, specifically with customers in the UK and Ireland.

In his new role as agency Marketing Manager at Show + Tell, he will leverage his experience and strategic insight to drive the agency's marketing initiatives forward, helping us to reach our ambitious financial objectives and brand goals. He will also be responsible for developing and executing innovative marketing strategies to enhance Show + Tell's brand visibility, drive customer engagement, and support business growth.

Show + Tell bolsters growth with new agency Marketing Manager

It’s been a busy and exciting time here at Show + Tell recently, what with our rebrand, multiple 

 and several new clients coming on board, and we’re back to share that we’ve also recently welcomed eventIMPACTS, an initiative by 

eventIMPACTS is well-known for its comprehensive event audits, which illustrate how events influence various aspects, ranging from local communities to the economy, including a unique carbon calculator for economic impact assessment. 

Partners include the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, EventScotland, London & Partners, Tourism Northern Ireland and many more high-profile names in the mass participation event space.

The UK Sport team behind eventIMPACTS believe that events have the power to inspire and change people's lives in several ways, and they provide a toolkit of resources to help event organisers improve their evaluation of the impacts associated with staging sporting and cultural events.

The firm’s partnership with Show + Tell signifies a strategic move to improve the overall user experience (UX) of the eventIMPACTS website and highlight their extensive knowledge and experience in their field.

While eventIMPACTS has primarily focused on sports events to date, Show + Tell will be aiming to broaden the perception by highlighting the organisation’s capability to cater to any large-scale event, from large-scale business conferences to grand expos and lots in between. 

This initial project focuses on revamping the website's UX, addressing current technical challenges and improving aesthetics and user journeys. The entire website is set to undergo a comprehensive audit to identify areas of improvement and enhance overall usability.

Our approach started with our signature in-depth discovery process, analysing how users currently navigate the website and pinpointing friction areas. This analysis will inform subsequent UX and design improvements, ensuring that eventIMPACTS site visitors can easily find the content they seek. 

There will be a thorough testing phase, involving approximately 30 recruited users who will evaluate a prototype of the site, providing real-world feedback which will inform our approach and be gold dust for the site’s ongoing evolution. UK Sport and eventIMPACTS have personally invited participants to partake in this testing, showcasing their commitment to delivering an enhanced digital experience for their audience. 

This emphasis on user testing highlights the commitment to delivering a website that aligns seamlessly with the needs and expectations of eventIMPACTS’ diverse user base.  Looking ahead, we’re hoping to create a long-term roadmap for eventIMPACTS, anticipating future projects and approaches to enhance their digital presence even further. 

Show + Tell’s Technical Director, Dan Martin, spoke of the partnership with UK Sport on the eventIMPACTS project, saying:

UK Sport selects Show + Tell to enhance UX for eventIMPACTS 

We're thrilled to announce an exciting collaboration with a renowned US-based venture capital firm specialising in healthcare investments. In a strategic move to elevate its digital presence and storytelling capabilities, this VC firm - which for confidentiality clauses we cannot name as yet! - has selected Show + Tell to spearhead the revamp of its brand and website.

Headquartered in the US, this venture capital firm distinguishes itself by focusing on healthcare investments beyond the conventional Biotech scope. Unlike our other clients in the space, such as 

, which typically invest in early-stage startups, our latest client targets commercially viable businesses in later-stage development.

The primary goal of this ambitious brand and website overhaul is to enhance the firm's brand perception and overall user experience. 

Show + Tell will strategically emphasise key areas such as showcasing the extensive portfolio of companies the venture capital firm has invested in, highlighting significant successes and metrics, and weaving a cohesive and engaging narrative throughout. Strong site performance will be a key driver, naturally, and we’ll be focused on developing a powerful, user-centric and simple-to-use site that showcases the best of this firm’s offerings. 

To achieve these objectives, we plan to leverage a headless CMS, utilising a JamStack methodology. This modern approach places the requirements and trends of the modern web at the project's core, ensuring a seamless and dynamic user experience, whilst making content and changes easier to manage for the in-house team, thanks to the nature of implementing a headless CMS. 

Brand Transformation: A complete overhaul of the brand to articulate the firm’s expertise and authority in its space to its audience. The result will be engaging and appealing brand assets and an industry-leading website. 

JamStack Approach: As JamStack specialists, we’ll be delivering the new site with this approach to result in a faster, more secure and scalable website, built for the modern web.

Sharing Success: A key component of the brand and website overall is communicating the success stories of the scale-ups invested in by the firm, along with their many successes as an organisation.

Content Flexibility: We’ll be introducing a Headless CMS, replacing the firm’s existing CMS set-up, which will empower their in-house team to make changes to content without dev input,  dramatically minimising the delays or downtime that can traditionally be a symptom of monolithic systems.

Creative Direction and Collaboration: In addition to the technical aspects, Show + Tell will actively contribute to the creative direction of the venture capital firm's online presence. This includes art direction, supplier selection, and setting standards for the quality of creative content, videos, and photography to align with the firm's strong image, ethos, and values.

The charity offers a range of vital mental health provisions such as telephone support, counselling, befriending, wellbeing groups, rural wellbeing support (within Masham, Pateley Bridge, Ripon, Boroughbridge), support for refugees & asylum seekers and Cost of Living support.

The charity heavily relies on partnerships like ours, along with fundraising (from both individuals and businesses) and running internal operations on a modest budget to ensure the focus is on delivering for those who need its support.

Daniel Swepson, Marketing Director at Next Chapter, led the partnership initiation and stated:

Show + Tell is a UK Dev Awards 2024 Finalist

Just under a fortnight ago, we finally released our new brand, 

, into the world. After months of work, it was time to reveal our new name, new look, new website, and new, well, 

, so it was only right we had a party to celebrate such an occasion. 

After almost 15 years of being known as Impression, the decision to rebrand to Show + Tell wasn’t one we took lightly, but - as with all good things - the timing was just right.  We’ve shared a little more about the rationale behind the change

The launch took place on December 7th and received a few exciting press features, and we’ve already had a tonne of great feedback from clients, partners, and staff alike, such as:

The following day, we celebrated the launch of Show + Tell at our central Harrogate headquarters, bringing together the whole team, along with friends and family, partners, and industry peers, to raise a glass and toast our new chapter. As a busy creative and digital agency with multiple bases, it’s not often the whole team can get together to celebrate, and it was fantastic to have so many join us for the celebration. 

“We really appreciate how many people came to celebrate the launch of Show + Tell, especially considering it was in December - an already busy month of parties! 

, along with showcasing the new brand in all its glory across the office. It felt important to mark this shift as a business with a proper event and it was a great night. There are big plans afoot for us in 2024 - our fifteenth anniversary - so I’m looking forward to sharing more and seeing these plans come to fruition. I want to say a big thank you to everyone who worked on the launch, and helped organise the launch event - now it’s on to the next!”

We’ll be closed from 5 pm on Friday, 22nd December, and reopening at 9 am on Tuesday 2nd January 2024.

Toasting Success: Show + Tell Official Launch Event

We are thrilled to announce that Show + Tell has been shortlisted in the prestigious UK Digital Excellence Awards in the Best B2B Website category. This recognition comes as a testament to the outstanding collaboration between our team and the esteemed commercial interior design firm, DENTON.

At Show + Tell, we believe in pushing boundaries, breaking new ground, and delivering experiences with impact. These beliefs are exemplified in our partnership with DENTON, a leading player in commercial interior design in the UK. DENTON came to us looking for a rich brand experience that inspires visitors and highlights their innovative, specialist service offering. 

The synergy between our teams has resulted in a website that showcases DENTON's unparalleled design expertise and sets a new standard for B2B websites in the digital landscape.

Competitor analysis and a full review of the existing site was the first stage of our approach to the DENTON site overhaul. This was done before we won the brief for the work, and we took this research further once we’d secured the contract and had access to information that could guide us from a UX and CRO viewpoint, and inform the design and functionality.

The business wanted to move to a new domain as part of this project, so our Marketing team was on hand to deal with the SEO implications of that, whilst our design and development teams utilised the findings of our research to develop a concept that propelled the DENTON brand ahead of its competitors. 


We presented a highly compelling, editorial concept, which showcased the incredible projects using quality imagery, video and interactive aspects, which would not have been possible with a new 

, as the previous site was quite restrictive in what it could support. The site was also flat and didn’t particularly engage or provide the opportunity for the user to dive deeper into a project, and this was a big opportunity for DENTON to get right. 

The existing site was also quite confusing, and part of our work was to simplify the user journey through a streamlined sitemap, making information simple to access for the different audience types.  Crucial aspects - from our perspective - were things such as having the Services pages in the main nav, as these important pages were hard to find, and that’s not ideal for such a considered purchase where research and information gathering are key. Clear call-to-actions were also lacking and this was impacting conversions. 

All of this - and more - was taken care of in our approach to the project.

Show + Tell shortlisted at UK Digital Excellence Awards

After almost 15 years of Impression, the end of this year brings some exciting developments for our agency. Following months of work behind the scenes, we’re delighted to share our new brand and identity, Show + Tell.

Throughout 2023 we’ve been looking ahead and mapping out the agency's future. To that end, we’ve invested a lot into our brand positioning, marketing and business development, as well as cementing our senior leadership team and client experience, adding FLOCC to our agency group, and the ongoing evolution of our service offering.

We understand more than ever who we are and what we’re great at, and felt that it was time our brand name and creative had an upgrade to propel us into our fifteenth year in business. 

The rebrand marks a significant shift towards offering an all-encompassing suite of services. As Show + Tell, we specialise in digital strategy, website design and build, technical innovation, UX design, brand strategy, and brand design.
